RAAAWW

I’m having heaps of fun constantly learning more things photography over here. Like I mentioned on Monday night, I edited my first RAW image, but never got to post it for you. Tonight I have 3 high quality images for you, and I’m really excited about all of them. The quality you get when editing a RAW image is so much better than a JPEG for editing!
To top everything all off tonight I finally got to hand my camera in to Harvey Norman to be sent away and tested for focusing issues. I was very nervous about this and how I would go taking photos with my phone for about 2 weeks. Turns out, I may not have to wait that long. They took my camera away straight away, and gave me store credit, so I get to purchase a new camera straight away. Hello upgrade! I had the Canon 1100D and their next model up from this – the 1200D, is a big step in quality even if I don’t manage to go up to the next series, the 6/700D. I didn’t choose a camera today though – a hungry, tired, manic one year old does not make fun for serious decisions. Also this allowed me the night to try find bargains online as Harvey Norman will price match!
I’ve also been seeing a fair bit about free lensing lately – must be all the rage somewhere. It’s where you detach your lens from your camera, but still hold it fairly close and shoot away. Anyway, I gave that a go this morning. Not quite sure if I was doing it right, and forgot to upload those images before removing my memory card from the camera to look at them more closely. So in the mean time, I’ll try read up on this subject a bit more; just keep your eyes peeled down the track for some of these shots.

DAY 20

LIGHT ~ I find it very hard to be to creative in our unit. Very low lighting, little windows and no view. But seeing how much fun my little darling can have with water, laughing a splashing away, truly lights up my day!

DAY 21

LOOKING DOWN ~ Since our home isn’t high – actually Perth in general is pretty flat, and I didn’t want to have another photo of my feet, I had to think a bit harder. I just wonder what everyone thought of me with my chunky camera in the middle of a supermarket! This photo however, was a good example for me to confirm once and for all my camera’s focusing issues. When I zoomed in for my edit, the focus point was on my daughters face, however, it’s the contents inside the trolley that are more in focus.

DAY 22.

WEATHER ~ Such a lovely change to have some cooler breezy weather today. It wasn’t stormy and I was still wearing singlet and shorts, it just threatened to rain all day, although never found the guts to pull through.
